DESIGNER VISION
|
Rita Ghanime is a Los Angeles based designer, stylist and creative director with nearly three decades of experience in the fashion industry. Her work has touched a wide spectrum of cultural figures including actors, musicians, artists, directors, DJs and global executives, creating garments that embody the highest expression of personal style.
Her design philosophy is rooted in what she calls embodied authorship. Each garment begins as a vision and is brought into physical form through intention, design and craftsmanship. The kimono silhouette has become her signature canvas through which these ideas take shape. The brand began with Rita personally sewing and infusing intention into each piece. As the work evolved and demand grew, her role expanded into directing the creative vision while collaborating with skilled makers who help bring the collections to life. Today the garments continue to carry this philosophy of intentional creation. Each piece reflects the original vision and energetic intention that has defined the brand since its beginning. Her current focus is the development of a seven city, seven piece monochromatic capsule collection, where each city is expressed through a specific color frequency that embodies the tone and spirit of that place. These capsule collections form the foundation of international expansion through one curated retail partner in each city. |
"Alchemy is when intentions and thoughts transform and charge something seemingly inanimate and give it meaning, purpose and life. My Kimonos are charged because I put intention into them. We all have this power, we just forget we have it and I am reminding people how to do it. And I do this through my Kimonos. Essentially, my Kimonos are magic made physical."

INTENTIONAL FASHION = SLOW FASHION
"I am not in the fashion life cycle industry simply to create products and make a profit. My work is rooted in purpose, consciousness and connection. Fast fashion is already shifting as consumers become more aware of the environmental and cultural impact of their choices.
Slow fashion and conscious design are deeply aligned with how I approach my work. Investing in something you fall in love with and wear for years brings deeper intention into the buying process. Fill your closet with pieces you will cherish and live in for a long time.

"I approach the creation of each Kimono as an extension of my own personal creative practice. When I envision and create the first incarnation of that design the garment then carries the same frequency of intention, connection, expression and possibility."- RG

Rita's extensive fashion industry experience spans from her early twenties with an innovative start in trend-forecasting at national retail brands, and then in PR, where she merged her love of writing and promoting fashion designers - she made the move into Styling and worked with thousands of independent musicians all over the world. It was during this time that she began making clothing for artists and then developed her own unisex-kids brand (inspired by her son) and then, by fate moved into the Kimono-stratosphere in which she has spent the last 8 years evolving and flowing abundantly within.
